Vitamin D deficiency is a growing problem for children living in London. Research published in the London Journal of Primary Care found that more than 50 per cent of children presented to Ealing Hospital NHS Trust between 1 July and 22 October 2009 had a vitamin D deficiency

16% of adults have severe vitamin D deficiency during winter and spring

15 minutes of sun exposure a day is recommended for children

10 micrograms a day of vitamin D is recommended for pregnant women
