1 Watch out for warning signs. Young people can be very good at hiding their problems and disinclined to talk about them. Gambling addictions are notoriously hard to spot. But you cannot support a young person unless you know what kind of a problem they have. Yet by the time a young person is truanting, getting into debt and stealing, the habit can be established and hard to break.
