Goals: To make music-making accessible to all young people
Funding: 4,500 from Awards for All and 4,000 from Our Money, Your Dream (Cornwall's Youth Opportunity Fund)
Getting your tracks heard on national radio is no mean feat for any band but a youth-led music project in Cornwall has done just that.
Zebs, a young people's drop-in centre in Truro, has been running a youth-led music-making project for the past two years, aimed at 11- to 20-year-olds.
About 70 young people a week attend music sessions at Zebs, which has a dedicated space with instruments and a recording studio. The project offers two recording sessions a week, vocal sessions, a young women's music gathering, music technology sessions and intermediate sessions for more experienced young people.
