What does it support? The trust makes grants in three areas. First, organisations working to promote human rights and, in particular, those working with individuals and communities that have experienced genocide, torture, rape, false imprisonment, oppression and abuse. Second, those working to reduce overcrowding in British prisons through the reduction of reoffending, especially projects furthering education and training of offenders.
An example is London Shakespeare Workout, which has brought Shakespeare into 72 prisons, including HMP Brixton, where the Dream Factory programme provides vocational arts activities for prisoners. Finally, rainforest conservation projects, including those working in the UK to promote sustainable use of the world's resources.
