Sport Relief is BBC Sport and Comic Relief's fundraising initiative for underprivileged children.
What will it fund? The programme is looking for proposals from projects that help bring young people together to address conflict, tensions and divisions in their communities. Projects should use sport as a way of creating initial engagement and then ongoing interaction between divided groups. There will be a number of additional grants for organisations with proven expertise in conflict resolution.
Who will it fund? Initially this programme is limited to 17 locations: Glasgow; Bradford; Calderdale; Kirklees; Hull; Mansfield; Stoke; Sandwell; Birmingham; Leicester; Charnwood; Peterborough; Tewkesbury; Cardiff; Slough; Thurrock; and Plymouth. Successful bids are likely to involve at least two local partners, and the lead body should have charitable aims. Partners may include police, probation, youth services, Connexions, schools and other local voluntary groups. Bids will need to show proof of local conflict or divisions and have a strong awareness of diversity.
