What will it support? There are four project criteria: developing the creativity of young people between the ages of 11 and 21; enhancing their communication skills; preparing them for the world of work; and building their confidence and self-esteem. While not limited to these, the fund will prioritise projects where at least one of these criteria is addressed. Outcome-oriented applications, for example "enabling 20 young people to improve self-confidence and creativity through performing on stage", will be preferred to those seeking a contribution towards overall running costs of an organisation.
Who can apply? To be eligible you must be a charitable, voluntary, community-based organisation or a school, and the purposes of the project must be educational or charitable. You must also be based in the following areas: the London Boroughs of Brent, Ealing, Hammersmith and Fulham, Hounslow, Lambeth, Richmond and City of Westminster; the Scottish areas of Airdrie, Alloa, Falkirk, Fife, Motherwell, Shotts and West Lothian; and the Yorkshire districts of Craven, Harrogate and Richmondshire. Projects from other London Boroughs and from Edinburgh can be considered if they are endorsed by a Sky employee.
