What will it support? The open grant scheme part of the social justice programme aims to support young people up to the age of 30 who are at a time of transition. This includes those leaving care or prison, settling into a new community or who face cultural changes in their local environment, for example, established communities in refugee-dispersal areas. It focuses on supporting arts and learning activities that enable marginalised young people to have their voices heard and to play a greater role in society.
Projects should also aim to build strong relationships within and between communities and foster understanding of and respect for differences. Grants are designed to fund specific activities, so they may cover running costs such as staff salaries and overheads such as stationery, rent, rates and utilities.
