What does it fund? The trustees have no specific priorities, nor any exemptions other than animal welfare charities. They are inclined not to directly support specific salaried posts but will consider donations towards general running costs. Looking back at where money has gone in recent years, the annual report includes sections on arts, community, environment, education, health, religion, welfare, youth and "other". Among recent youth-related grants are 300,000 to the YMCA to support work with young people at risk and young offenders and 250,000 to The Duke of Edinburgh's Award to run the award with young people who are isolated by geography or disadvantage. Typical of smaller grants is 30,000 to Warwickshire Association of Youth Clubs towards the renovation of Westbury Youth and Community Centre. The Prince's Trust received a similar amount towards its mentoring programme for care-leavers.
