Resources: Funding Focus - Fidelity UK Foundation

1 min read

What will it fund? These grants are not meant to support everyday project costs; rather they are designed to help groups run more efficiently. Hence money is generally given for measures such as capital improvements, technology upgrades, organisational development and planning initiatives. There are four sectors the foundation is keen to fund: community development, education, health and arts and culture. The grant-makers will be looking for institutional commitment to the project on behalf of the organisation's board, a realistic project budget, a thorough implementation plan, and significant support from other funders.

Who can apply? Charitable organisations working in the above areas - but not private schools, colleges or political organisations. Applicants will need to show evidence of financial health, a strong management team and board and an overall strategic plan. The foundation says that it currently directs the majority of its grants to locations in which Fidelity Investments has an office - which means Kent, Surrey and London.
