I am also very lucky to be involved with the Department for Communities and Local Government's Young Advisors programme, and I am a trustee and chair of the national Young Advisors organisation.
What does the work involve? Making sure I keep in contact with young people.
I work with them through our own Young Advisors project, which employs young people to act as consultants on how best to engage their peers across the area. They also help us service the local youth forums, making sure that the opinions of young people are brought back to local councillors and service representatives.
What you get out of it? The young people I work with are creative, innovative and really committed to making a difference.
