Residential activity centre opens in Kielder Forest

Teenagers in Newcastle are to be offered more opportunities to take part in adventure activities after the opening of a 410,000 residential activity centre in the Kielder Forest.

 The centre was funded by the Big Lottery Fund, the Scouts Association and Newcastle City Council. Marcus Tinsley, outdoor education adviser at the council, said: "This will give more of our young people the opportunity to experience a range of outdoor activities."
