REFUGEES: Foundation to help fund asylum groups

1 min read

The Paul Hamlyn Foundation, which helps disadvantaged young people access arts, is offering the three-year grants to registered refugee and asylum seeker community groups.

Applications will be accepted in the New Year and funding rounds will be twice-yearly, in February and October.

The foundation wants to hear from organisations working with unaccompanied 16- to 18-year-olds in particular.

Susan Blishen, education projects manager at the foundation, said: "We want to encourage collaborative working, so we are looking to receive applications from refugee community organisations. This will allow them to build their capacity by working in partnership with mainstream providers."

She added that the project was about helping a group of 11- to 18-year-olds who were desperately in need of services.
