Funding: 18,000 from the Neighbourhood Renewal Fund

Goals: The project is designed to create an increased awareness of, and to co-ordinate services for, young people.

When 60 per cent of residents described the provision of youth services in Harlesden and Stonebridge as "poor" in a survey carried out by Brent Council last year, one group of young people was pessimistic that the council could change the current perception without their help.

Under the leadership of the Brent Neighbourhood Renewal Youth Team and its marketing programme officer, Sandra Gayle, nine young people between the ages of 16 and 21 designed What's Poppin, a brochure containing a comprehensive list of young people's services.
