Goals: To encourage young people to get involved in their community

Young people are involving themselves in the democratic process and getting their voices heard at Rutland County Council, through the Rutland Dream Team. This brings together two previously separate bodies: the youth council, which was run by young people, and the youth forum, which was run by youth work professionals.

Adrian Haigh, former head of youth development at Rutland County Council, who set up the Dream Team, says: "The two sides never seemed to meet, and while there was dialogue with the young people, it was more or less tokenistic. So we decided to bring them together."
