Project: Found, Southwark, south London Goals: To teach young people music skills and produce a CD Funding: The project is run by Point Blank, which receives about 30,000 a year from the youth service through the Karrot Project
Visitors to the Metropolitan Police's anti-gun crime event earlier this month were among the first to hear Found, a CD produced by young people in Southwark.
The CD is the result of a year-long scheme run by Point Blank, a music college and record label that works with young people as part of Karrot, a crime-reduction initiative open to the 8,500 young people aged between 11 and 16 in Southwark. As well as music, for which Point Blank is responsible, activities run by the project include sport and drama.
