Goal: To raise awareness of the growing spread of gun violence

Funding: Received 12,000 from the Nottingham Community Chest and local area network funds

Stop the Violence, a celebrity-endorsed music and film project, is set to launch a single next month. Set up by Nottingham-based youth music group Raw Talent, the project aims to combat the growing spread of gun violence in inner-city areas through the medium of music and film.

Duane Watson, director of Raw Talent, explains: "In Nottingham, there are 12 unsolved murders of young people because of a gangs and guns mentality, but the media only took interest since the Birmingham murders.
