Goals: To combat antisocial behaviour by providing informal leisure activities for young people

Funding: Receives money from Warwickshire County Council's Positive About Young People fund

In December last year, residents in the Warwickshire borough of Nuneaton and Bedworth believed young people's behaviour in the area was starting to get out of hand. They complained constantly about balls being kicked against their walls and intimidating groups of teenagers hanging around on street corners.

Rod Doyle, youth contact team worker at Nuneaton & Bedworth Leisure Trust, a charitable organisation that runs sport activities in the area, says it looked like the problem would reach a flash point. "The police were being called. The residents weren't happy with the young people and the young people weren't happy with the residents," he recalls. "Both sides felt victimised."
