Funding: Norfolk County Council, Transforming Youth Work and individual grants

Goals: To deliver information in a fun and interactive way and to offer a safe interactive web site

When the Transforming Youth Work team in Norwich was looking for a way to reach out to local young people, it hit upon the idea of starting up a web site. The result was Norfolk Blurb, set up in January this year (www.norfolkblurb.co.uk).

The site is run by a team of local 14- to 16-year-olds recruited through flyers, posters and word of mouth. Features include local news, reviews and entertainment and it has an advice page with its own agony aunt and a page covering issues affecting young people. Local youth groups and useful contacts are also listed as well as links to Connexions and Norfolk Youth web sites.
