Goals: To challenge and address issues of homelessness and homophobia in the lives of young people.
Funding: Comic Relief. Run by Unlimited Theatre and Leeds County Council LGBTQ Youth Provision.
The project aims to address issues such as the high incidence of homelessness and isolation experienced by young people who are LGBTQ.
Surveys cited by RU Home state that abuse, prejudice and the expectation of prejudice by young LGBTQs from family and friends have all contributed to the threat of homelessness.
Clare Duffy, RU Home project manager, said: "Young people developed a web site and radio programme to reach out and develop links with others who are feeling isolated as a result of issues about their sexuality. It also provides a platform to air views and provide updates to the group's activities."
