Positive Activities: Youthcomm Radio secures FM licence

A youth radio station in Worcestershire is to be broadcast across the community after being granted an FM frequency licence from regulator Ofcom.

Youthcomm Radio, which has been run by the county council's youth support service for eight years, has previously only broadcast online. The station provides opportunities for 13- to 19-year-olds both in front of and behind the microphone.

Councillor Liz Eyre, Worcestershire County Council's cabinet member for children and young people, said: "We are delighted Ofcom has recognised the valuable role the station plays. Anybody with a radio can now tune in."
