The National Youth Agency: Council appeals for young people to visit polls

Worcestershire County Council is currently urging young people to cast their votes in this year's Worcestershire Youth Cabinet and UK Youth Parliament (UKYP) elections.

The council is keen for young people to participate in democratic processes, supporting The National Youth Agency's belief that all young people should have a right to express their views and influence decisions that affect them. The elections are open to 11- to 18-year-olds. There are four Youth Cabinet seats available in each of the county's six districts and three Members of Youth Parliament seats up for grabs. Cllr Liz Eyre, the county council's member for children and young people, said: "By casting their vote, young people will be electing those they want to speak on their behalf, who will work to make sure their views are heard and listened to."
