Carers to record anti-bullying song

1 min read Social Care Youth Work
Young carers in Worcestershire are recording songs with Nigel Clark, former frontman of the indie band Dodgy, for this year's Anti-Bullying Week campaign.

Worcestershire Young Carers' Group are spending two days working with Nigel Clark at his recording studios in Worcestershire.

The tracks will then be produced as a CD that will be distributed by the county council to every school in Worcestershire during Anti-Bullying Week, which runs from November 17.

Councillor Liz Eyre, Worcestershire County Council's cabinet member for children and young people, said: "We're delighted the young people are being given this unique opportunity to use music to explore an issue that can affect anybody and everybody, regardless of their age.

"We're looking forward to hearing the outcome of the workshops and sharing it with young people across the county by distributing the CD to every school in Worcestershire. By circulating the tracks we aim to not just support the national campaign by further raising awareness of bullying, but to use the CD as a starting point for discussions in Worcestershire's schools."
