Positive activities: Fishing project scoops funds

A charity that uses fishing to combat social exclusion among young people has received a grant to develop a lake in Lincolnshire.

The North East Lincolnshire arm of Get Hooked on Fishing has secured a £20,000 Neighbourhood Renewal Grant to regenerate Homestead Lake in Immingham.

The money will allow the construction of 28 angling platforms, as well as a car park to make it easier for disabled visitors to use the facilities.

Project leader Mark Fenty said: "I'm keen to involve young people in the ongoing maintenance and development of the site. This way they will better appreciate the environment."
