Ofsted has announced proposals for reviewing its future inspections of the Children and Family Court Advisory Support Service (Cafcass), responsible for the safeguarding of children involved in family law proceedings. The proposals are to ensure that Ofsted's inspections are coherent and thorough, and that the resulting implemented changes take more account of the needs of those using Cafcass. It also aims to target Ofsted resources in areas that will have maximum impact on outcomes for children.
The new proposals have been designed to ensure that Ofsted will provide updated information more quickly to Cafcass service users, with the intention of publishing a final report approximately three weeks after the inspection.
