How is Ofsted coping with all of its inspection duties? Its annual report is due out next month, so that might be a good time to ask. At the moment, it is consulting on changes to the inspection regime for the Children and Family Court Advisory Support Service in England - Cafcass, to you and me.
What kind of changes, and why? Ofsted wants Cafcass inspections to correspond to the push for proportionate inspections already in place in schools and children's services. The inspectorate also wants to make them more outcomes-focused, with a clearer requirement to report against the Every Child Matters outcomes for children and in particular staying safe.
