Work Wise: Consultation of the week

1 min read Social Care
The Children Act 1989 Guidance and Regulations Volume 1 Court Orders.

This consultation addresses the court orders available under the Children Act 1989, which can be used to place children in care. The Act is intended to give a coherent framework for the laws relating to children. It aims to strike a balance between the rights of children, the responsibilities of parents, and the duty of the state to intervene when the child's welfare may be under threat.

The Department for Children, Schools and Families is looking to target social workers, those involved in community and voluntary groups, local authorities and anyone working with children and young people to find out if they think the guidance is correct, or if anything has been omitted that should be included.
