This is despite the occasional witch-hunt by some parts of the media such as the one we recently saw when the brutal murder of 14-year-old Stefan Pakeerah by 17-year-old Warren Leblanc was unjustifiably linked to 18-rated video game Manhunt.
This media scare happened despite the police continuing to state that they never linked the game to the crime and that this terrible tragedy was motivated by robbery. The whole episode is a good illustration of the media not letting the facts get in the way of a good story. There is no evidence whatsoever of any link between violent behaviour and video gaming, despite many research projects by eminent academics.
