POLICY & PRACTICE: Soapbox - Connexions should be accountable forevery penny

2 mins read

I am amazed by the amounts of money Connexions, along with other initiatives, has suddenly been given. Having been involved for nearly 35 years in youth and community work - 25 years full-time - this is very encouraging. While youth clubs have closed or fallen away due to funding cuts or boring programmes, the Jubilee attracts hundreds of teenagers every week, pursuing canoeing, abseiling, climbing, the Duke of Edinburgh Awards Scheme and challenging residential outdoor programmes.
