An outreach drug worker explains how his team offered advice and supportwithout breaching the boy's trust
A 14-year-old boy came to the young people's outreach drug service forsome information because he was taking drugs and was worried about theimplications.
The young person and his friends had been experimenting with what theythought was probably ecstasy. He had tried it about three times and hadbought the pills from his friend's brother who was a lot older.
As a result of his ecstasy use, the boy found that he was oftendehydrated from all of the dancing he was doing.
He was also being pressurised by his friend to take more than one pilland to try other drugs such as amphetamines and GHB.
