Information, Referral and Tracking - sounds a bit Big Brother doesn't it?
Which may be why the longer-term strategy will be known as Information Sharing and Assessment. But whatever it's called, the justification is that it has been too easy for agencies not to know what's going on in the life of a vulnerable young person.
So what is this study about? This is the interim report on the "trailblazers" - 10 local authority partnerships each given 1m to develop innovative approaches to information sharing and multi-agency working. In some areas, the arrival of Connexions proved an impetus for information sharing, but in general the necessary protocols weren't in place and their development has been a key strategy of the trailblazers.
