What have we got here then? A veritable smorgasbord of statistics, with commentary, that shine a light on the way the 12 to 19 population feels about politics and decision-making, family life, community involvement, education, work and their future.
Phew. But is it just market research?
It's been done as part of the British Social Attitudes survey, an annual study done for the Government on what we all think about stuff. Generally it's done with over-18s, but for 2003 the now-defunct Children and Young People's Unit sponsored a study for the younger age group. This is the third time this has been done, so we can look at some trends from 1994 and 1998 and at differences according to social background.
