So what do the youth think then? As a reader of Young People Now, you know better than to make sweeping assumptions about young people - they vary just like any demographic group. Age, sex, religion, family background and personal experience are all factors affecting views.
But the papers were shouting about an end to teenage rebels. What the papers picked up was that this survey found that parental opinion was one of a number of key determinants of a young person's opinion. That's not quite the same as saying they've picked up their pipe and slippers and switched to The Daily Telegraph. In fact, what it shows is that on most matters connected to "family values", we're all getting a bit more permissive - young people more than most.
