Hafejee has spent the past 15 years in youth work, working in both the statutory and voluntary sector. She is currently director of the Bradford Youth Development Partnership.
"It is a large voluntary sector organisation, and a charity as well," she explains. "It works on an ethos that agencies and organisations have to work together to have an impact on young people's lives."
Her organisation encompasses a range of youth work projects, aimed at everyone from eight to 25, all brought together under the umbrella of the partnership.
This has led to an involvement with crime diversion work, with a particular emphasis on early intervention and prevention.
