Play Review: Jowell to respond to Dobson in letter

The Government is expected to respond to Frank Dobson's children's play review this week in the form of a letter from Tessa Jowell, the culture secretary.

The move will dismay play campaigners, who have waited nearly a year since the review was published and wanted a full report with a clear indication of how the 200m promised for play would be allocated.

A spokesman for the Department for Culture, Media and Sport said the Government would not publish a full response because it was awaiting the outcome of the Big Lottery Fund's consultations.
