It is hoped that a decision will be reached on the format and structure of the organisation by the end of August. Its aim will be to share good practice between Connexions services, as well as to focus on policy issues, particularly the development of the "youth skills agenda".
The alliance will also seek to fill the gap left by the closure of the National Association of Connexions Partners, which was disbanded at the end of March when local authorities took control of Connexions services.
