Philip Lawrence Awards: Positive Perceptions

6 mins read
The Philip Lawrence Awards recognise young people who have made a valuable contribution to their community. Charlotte Goddard takes a look at this year's eight prizewinners.

Steve Procter, youth development officer of the Philip Lawrence Awards and former award winner, says: "My role for the past 12 months has been to develop youth involvement in the awards. For the first time the majority of the judging was done by young people themselves this year."

The awards are managed by children's charity 4Children, formerly Kids' Club Network. Alec Jessel, programme director of the Philip Lawrence Awards, says: "We are proud to administer a scheme that rewards young people who have started up and led their own initiatives, and that has young people helping to judge the winners."
