The programme is being run by social entrepreneur organisation UnLtd,and is aimed at children and young people aged from 11 to 21.
Grants, ranging from 250 to 5,000, will be handed out todevelop ideas that use sport and recreation to benefit communities,particularly to tackle conflict.
UnLtd's chief executive, Cliff Prior, said the aim was to encourageyoung people to become leaders in their communities and "be the solutionto the problems of social conflict, the gangs and discord that are somuch a concern".
