Participation: Young person will join council team

Telford & Wrekin Council is to employ a young person to help direct its efforts to improve children's services.

The Young People's Voice and Influence Worker job is open to 17 to 20year olds and the young person will work for the council for a year.

Sarah Stembridge, children and young people's involvement manager, saidthe post was "a really exciting opportunity, not just for the youngperson who will gain some really valuable experience, but also for theauthority to have a young person employed to actively involve theirpeers in the design and delivery of services".

The 30 hours-a-week job will pay between 11,989 and 12,831per year. After the first year, a new young person will be sought forthe job.
