Participation in Action: RNIB Scotland's youth forum sets employment challenge

A group of young people from Scotland travelled down to Westminster last month to speak about their experiences of finding work.

While this is a tricky time for many young people entering the jobs market, the young people were particularly keen to convey their experiences of being blind or partially sighted and explain how this has affected their path to employment. The four young people were all part of the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) Scotland’s youth forum Haggeye.

At the Vision UK 2012 conference, each presented their experiences and urged delegates to get support right for young people. The group then challenged delegates to come up with the three things they would do to make their services more accessible, in the space of 10 minutes.
