Participation in Action: Adopted young people offer advice to workers and carers

The Adoptables, a group of adopted young people, have helped design a First4Adoption webpage with tips and advice for people who are considering adoption.

Provider: First4Adoption

Name: Guide to adoption written by adopted young people

Funded by the Queen's Trust and run by children's charity Coram, the Adoptables is a peer network of adopted young people, which helps them to express their views and experiences as adopted children at home, in school and in post-adoption support.

The network aims to help children's professionals, such as teachers and social workers, improve on how they interact with young people through toolkits. The Adoptables also enables young people to act as ambassadors for adoption and represent the views of other adopted children.

Now teaming up with First4Adoption, a group of young ambassadors from the Adoptables have helped create a new area on the First4Adoption website, which aims to help adopters and professionals to improve the support they provide to adopted children and young adults.
