The board consists of 25 children and young people who advise the Department for Education and Skills (DfES) on youth issues. It will continue the work of the previous board, which was run by youth media agency Children's Express.
The British Youth Council will provide training and support for the board members, while the National Children's Bureau will mediate between the board and the DfES. The deadline for applications is 11 May.
