PARTICIPATION: DfES plans review of advisory forum

The Department for Education and Skills is to commission an independent review of the Children and Young People's Advisory Forum, which ran from July 2001 to December 2003.

The initiative was designed to involve children from a wide variety of backgrounds in Government decision-making.

The forum was part of the Children and Young People's Unit, which has been replaced by the Children, Young People and Families Directorate.

The DfES said it had always planned for the forum to run for a fixed term.

It has yet to appoint an organisation to carry out the review.
