Participation: Champions sought in democracy week

I'm a Councillor, Get Me Out of Here!, will climax this week as part of Local Democracy Week.

The contest involves young people voting online for the councillor whose youth manifesto best represents their interests. It will end with the nomination of the winner in each authority as its youth champion.

The competition runs alongside numerous local events marking the week.

It also includes a conference due to be jointly run by the British Youth Council and the Local Government Association to explore ways young people can contribute to decision-making and democracy.
