Participation: Award to encourage young to tackle bullying

1 min read

Past and future winners of the Diana Anti-Bullying Award, which is open to five- to 19-year-olds, will be invited to join Young Anti-Bullying Alliance (YABA). YABA members will be trained to be media spokespeople during Anti-Bullying Week.

In addition eight members will be taught editorial skills as part of a day workshop at The Guardian newspaper, and will go on to produce a newsletter about the organisation, with space left for schools and community groups to add their own stories.

A national board of 10 young people will be matched with Anti-Bullying Alliance (ABA) regional co-ordinators around England, and will have input into local activity, as well as national advisory meetings.
