The Parenting Project is foc-used in Croydon, Greenwich, Hackney and Southwark and is also working with Families Tog-ether, the London affiliate of the Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays parent support group.
The Parenting Fund has given just over 100,000 for the 18-month project, which will emp-loy two staff.
Rita Mcgloughlin, the project's parent adviser, said: "There have been initiatives for LGBT parents before, but none for straight parents of LGBT children."
