At the Futures event I'm performing a rap song about my life, my friendsand our experiences in care. I heard about the event through NCH, whichapproached councils for people to perform. We applied to take part andwere successful. This is not the first time I've performed live. I getnervous on the day of the performance but not before as I'm busyorganising.
Being involved in music is something I hope to do professionally and I'mcurrently studying a national diploma in the subject.

When I heard about Futures I thought it would be a good idea. I'malready involved in music and studying a BTEC at college in the subject. The song we are performing is about how life can be better, for example,a lot of young people feel the need to turn to crime and what the songis saying is that it doesn't have to be like that, there arealternatives and it's important to realise that.
