My Life: Jonathan Temple, 17, Redcar

I've been going to a project called Right on Target. We did a workshop and got to make a song, which the worker thought would be suitable to be performed at Rainer's recent National Leaving Care Advisory Service conferences in London and York.

I can't sing to save my life but helped to write the song. Right onTarget's social worker got a professional in to help us write andproduce the song.

We also got to make a film; a music video for the song. It was reallyfun and wicked.

I've been told the style of the song is pop, but I think it's a biturbany.

But it's the words of the song that are the important bit. It's calledJust Getting By and is about being in care.

I didn't perform the song at the conference, three people did thesinging instead. But I did put the questions looked-after children askedto the panels at the events. It felt good doing that. I felt we werelistened to and I got really good answers back. I thought the whole daywas really great.
