My Life: Chris Townsend, 17, south London

1 min read
I started going to the Trojans Scheme's summer play schemes when I was seven or eight so that my parents could go out to work.

I then started going to the after-school club when that started at myschool, so I've been at Trojans right since the beginning. It was fun -I especially enjoyed roller-skating at the time. I got to do lots ofactivities there that I didn't get to do at home or school because wedidn't have the materials there such as doing artwork with mosaictiles.

While I was still at school doing my GCSEs I joined Teenscene. AtTeenscene you can help out at the clubs Trojans runs and also get paidso you can earn extra money. At the same time I was doing a play workerbasics course at the weekends. I'm now a play worker and I am justfinishing GNVQ Level 2 in play work. I also volunteer at Trojans'offices.
