Opinion: Will gay rights laws protect young people enough?

1 min read

YES - Don Horrocks, head of public affairs, Evangelical Alliance

The sexual orientation regulations protect gay young people. This issue is about gay rights versus religious rights. Gay young people feel they don't have enough rights and the religious side feel their views are not being respected. We want nothing to do with anything that would subject gay people to abuse, hostility and intimidation. But if a religious youth group teaches that gay practice is wrong, but then has to open its doors to gay young people, it would not work.
