It relates to two proposals of the Tory-controlled county council. One is to withdraw free school or college bus services for over-16s. The other is to begin to tackle Monmouthshire's lack of facilities for young people, such as cinemas. The plan was for the youth service and local young people to find a way to use council-owned transport to give young people access to leisure facilities in big towns such as Newport and Bristol. Poor public transport means they are currently inaccessible to many young people.
